Where will the conference be held?
Epsilon Gamma Chapter-at-Large of Sigma Theta Tau will host the third annual conference on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Conference activities will take place at the Wichita’s WSU Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex at 5015 East 29th St N, Wichita, KS 67220.
Where should I send my abstract? How long should my abstract be?
Please submit your abstract by February 1, 2017 electronically by visiting our submission page.
Your abstract must be less than 300 words excluding contact information.
How will I know if my abstract is accepted?
The submitting author will be notified by March 1, 2016.
I am the second author. Will I be contacted?
All correspondence will take place through the first listed author only. However, full contact information should be included for all presenters as backups and to receive your continuing education certificate.
If I submit materials with my name, how will the review process be blind?
Before your abstract is sent to the review committee, all identifying information (including your name, contact info, role and affiliation) will be removed and every submission will be identified only by number until the review process is finalized.
Do I need to register for the conference?
Yes, all presenters are required to register for the conference and pay registration fees. You will receive a special link to pay your registration fee at a discounted rate.
What is included with the registration fee?
Registration fees will include the continental breakfast, luncheon, and continuing education credits. Nurses are encouraged to request time off on Wednesday, April 26th, and to request educational benefits provided by employers.
Is there a presenter conference rate?
Yes, for oral presentations only. Instructions will be provided with your acceptance email.
Is there a student conference rate?
Yes, student registration fees will be reduced by for full-time nursing students pursuing their first associate’s or bachelor’s degree. You may be asked to show your student ID during the conference. Please note that if you register at the student rate, you will not be eligible for CEUs.
What if I need to make changes in the abstract?
Unfortunately changes cannot be made after the submission deadline. Please feel free to reach out to the planning committee with any specific questions or concerns at email@example.com.
Will I receive continuing education credits for attending this conference?
Yes, please make sure you include your license number on your registration form. Wichita State University will be the accredited continuing education provider. At the 2016 conference, 7.5 continuing education credits were awarded. Approximately 5-7 units of credit will be awarded following completion of an online evaluation survey. Your certificate will be emailed to you at the address provided.
